British missionaries Matthew and Becky Murray are the co-founders and leaders of One By One. They travel extensively throughout the UK and USA representing the ministry and inspiring others to mission, as well as being mother and father to One By One’s 150+ children at King’s Children’s Home, Kenya. They have a beautiful son, Josiah, who was born in 2011. In Britain, Matthew and Becky are the senior leaders of Uttoxeter Pentecostal Church, Staffordshire.
Matthew – a journalist by trade – has a passion for evangelism and mission, and is the former crusade director of Evangelist Nathan Morris’ Shake The Nations Ministries. Matthew had a prominent role in the Bay of the Holy Spirit Revival, a spiritual outpouring in Mobile, Alabama, where thousands became Christians and many experienced supernatural healing. In October 2014, Matthew almost died after contracting a deadly form of malaria on a trip to Kenya. But he defied doctors by surviving after thousands of Christians worldwide turned to God in prayer on his behalf. Matthew’s miraculous recovery was reported by national TV channel, radio stations and newspapers.
Becky carries a heart of compassion for children and those in need. As a young girl she would always be drawn to the broken or damaged teddy bear in a toy store and it was clear God was birthing a love for the poor in her heart. Her life was radically changed at the Brownsville Revival in Pensacola, Florida, following an encounter with the Holy Spirit, and she subsequently visited Mozambique to work alongside American missionary Heidi Baker on a three-month internship. Becky had felt God speak to her when she was 18 that she would one day run her own children’s home and she followed this dream by launching One By One. Her passion is to rescue children and see them released into their destinies.
